The Eletu Odibo Chieftaincy Family of Lagos has formally proclaimed its traditional authority and overlordship over all lands in Abule Oja and one-third of Abule Ijesha, located within Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

In a public notice issued to residents, landowners, developers, agents, and corporate organizations, the family stated that the lands fall under its ancestral jurisdiction by virtue of customary law and inheritance. The declaration emphasized that the Eletu Odibo of Lagos, recognized as the Traditional Prime Minister to the Oba of Lagos and Head of the Akarigbere Royal Class, remains the lawful overlord and consenting authority over the affected lands.

The notice warned that no land transaction, including sale, lease, transfer, assignment, or development, would be considered valid without prior knowledge and consent of the Eletu Odibo Chieftaincy Family.

It further cautioned that any individual, group, or corporate body engaging in dealings on the lands without proper authorization would do so at their own risk.

According to the statement, the declaration serves as a formal public notice and warning to prevent unauthorized transactions and to reaffirm the family’s traditional rights over the areas concerned.

The notice was issued and signed by His Highness, Chief (Engr.) Ajibade Ismail Nosiru Ayeni, Traditional Prime Minister to the Oba of Lagos, the Eletu Odibo of Lagos, and dated February 12, 2026.
