Tiwa Savage and Yemi Alade have seemingly put their long-running feud behind them, marking the end of a six-year rift that started back in 2018.
Their disagreement began on social media after Yemi Alade posted a vague message that appeared to shade female celebrities who “deceive their fans” by editing their bodies, specifically their buttocks, in photos. Although she didn’t mention any names, the post came just hours after Tiwa Savage had shared pictures showing off her curves. Feeling targeted, Tiwa fired back, warning Alade not to “start a war you can’t finish.”
Since then, the pair kept their distance. Alade even said recently that she preferred not to collaborate with Tiwa to avoid unnecessary drama.
But everything changed during ‘The Price of Being Her’ panel at Entertainment Week Africa 2025 in Lagos.
In a video that has now gone viral, Yemi Alade addressed Tiwa Savage directly from the stage, offering heartfelt praise.
“I want you to know that when you stand your ground and do what you believe in, you’re standing up for many women,” she said. “Just keep being yourself. You’re truly walking in strength.”
The words moved Tiwa Savage to tears. Another clip showed her getting emotional as Yemi stepped forward to comfort her. The two artists then shared a warm hug, sealing what appeared to be a genuine reconciliation.
Yemi Alade even lightened the mood with a playful offer to cook pounded yam for Tiwa, who laughed and accepted the gesture warmly.
